Hello mates.  Well, try as I may, I am not getting any serious and/or powerful support in my quest to save BOLSTER.  I know these are hard economic times but I have been at this since 2003.

So, I'm throwing in the towel.  I have a fair amount of BOLSTER paperwork that would be VERY useful to anyone whom might take over the helm, so to speak.  The website is up for renewal and I can't justify the expense, kindly donated by Lary Peterson over the last several years.

If any of you would like to try your luck at saving BOLSTER, please contact me at once.  Otherwise, I'll be contacting MARAD as to the disillusion of the American Fleet Tug Museum in a week or so..

You are a GREAT group of people & I'm sorry I could not save your GREAT ship.

Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for visiting our website and expressing an interest in the AMERICAN FLEET TUG MUSEUM.  We are a dedicated group of individuals who are focused on bringing to the general public and our youth, an awareness of our nation's history, related to the fleet of towing, rescue and salvage vessels, operated by the United States military.

Our plan is to open a floating and operational museum aboard the ex-Rescue/Salvage vessel, "USS BOLSTER" ARS-38. We will have the usual displays and photos, but will go much further with special events for youth groups and families, hands-on events involving interaction by the public, participation displays throughout the ship, a program especially designed for very young children, child care attendants provided on specified days and on board activities and demonstrations.

We have set goals but fully intend to keep growing as opportunities are presented. We need your assistance in anyway possible to develop these programs. We ask you to consider donating your time, your monies, your ideas and any objects, (historic artifacts, supplies, goods and services, boats, cars properties, etc.) you have, that would assist in helping us to move forward. The American Fleet Tug Museum is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) Corporation.

This is an exciting program and we are VERY happy to invite you aboard to share in the joys and successes we will experience.
